Anass Essayi, a sophomore at South Carolina representin Morocco, became the first male athlete in program history to win the 1,500-meter title at the Southeastern Conference Championships in 3:41.52 at LSU's Bernie Moore Track and Field Stadium in Baton Rouge. Essayi secured his third career SEC crown, along with back-to-back indoor mile titles.
