Anass Essayi, a South Carolina sophomore representing Morocco, repeated as men's mile champion in 4:01.20 and took third in the 3,000-meter final in 7:53.73 at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships at Lance Harter Track and Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Essayi, who has run 3:50.46 in the mile, became the first back-to-back winner at the conference final since Sean Tobin of Ole Miss in 2017-18.
